We began in 1981 when five friends and business partners who owned bars in south Milwaukee banded together to drive more traffic into their establishments. Seeing the hottest trends leaning towards darts, we quickly capitalized by creating dart leagues to draw in consistent customers. With just a $100 investment, we formed English Dart South and got our first inventory of dart supplies.
As dart leagues became popular across local establishments, we outgrew our original home and established our headquarters in Muskego, Wisconsin, where we now operate from a 60,000 square foot warehouse. Our continued success comes from innovation, including investing in soft tip darts for electronic dartboards. While traditional darters continued enjoying steel points and bristle boards, casual fans embraced this faster, more convenient way to play.
This success allowed us to expand into other gaming ventures. Today, as Great Lakes Dart Manufacturing (GLD Products), we manufacture and distribute a complete line of family gaming products throughout America, including billiard tables, air hockey tables, foosball tables, poker tables, and multi-game table combinations under the Fat Cat brand.
